Yes, files are uploaded once to our secure servers for indexing. Indexing generates compact semantic embeddings, and the searchable index is then stored on your device. Future searches run from that device-side index. We do not retain your original file contents after indexing.
Spotlight and Windows Search look at filenames and limited metadata. Vextore searches both the filename and what's actually inside the file, so you can describe a photo without knowing its filename, or find a video moment without knowing the timestamp, and still get the right result.
Every search runs against every file in every format at the same time, photos, videos, audio, documents, code, and returns ranked results very fast on a typical laptop. There's no "switch tabs to search a different type" step, and the index is built for scale so speed stays roughly constant as your library grows.
Yes. Vextore extracts semantic representations from video frames, audio spectra, and transcripts. You can search for moments like "the part where she mentions the deadline" or "acoustic guitar intro" and jump straight to the timestamp.
